Some sneak peeks of my spider themed oracle deck in development!
Support spider research and conservation efforts through purchasing my oracle deck! A portion of every sale will be paid forward as donations to these vital efforts.
Feel good about supporting an oracle deck printed with sustainable materials and techniques! Each deck will be recyclable and made from sustainably sourced paper and printed with safer inks!
This oracle deck is a direct product of Spirit-sourced inspiration. This whole project was spurred on through Spider’s urging, and thus holds Her influence and energies, aiding in your search for insight and spiritual growth.
This oracle deck provides a unique opportunity to connect with Spider. She is old, powerful, and a wonderful teacher of energy work and perception. There is no cultural appropriation here, just an open Spirit wanting more connections.
In all of my searching, I have not found a single spider themed oracle deck for sale. At first, I was disappointed, but sometimes you need to make the art and divination tools you want to see in the world.
I am a queer Asian small business owner and independent artist! This whole project is from my (and Spider’s) authentic artistic and spiritual vision! There is no AI, no big corporate backing, and no middle man here.
You can support this effort through a reading purchase or small donation to my Ko-fi!
The concept for my spider oracle deck was born from a deep spiritual connection to spiders that I only recently discovered the true extent of. While Spider has been a significant influence on how I connect to clients, it has taken me many years to realize that this influence also extended to how I understand, interact with, and perceive energy in itself.
Connecting those dots to Spider took many years, a deep conversation with my partner, and Spider finally getting fed up and making Herself known in no uncertain terms. It started to become hard to remain oblivious when I was seeing at least a couple of new spiders or webs every single day for months. Even after I realized my connection, She has been sending spiders every day. I suspect it is to keep me on track with this oracle deck so I won’t be distracted.
Between my love of art and divination, I have long wanted to create an oracle deck even if just for my personal use. The problem was finding a theme that resonated enough that I could intuitively find symbolism and meaning in every potential card idea. This deck was the first idea I had where the ideas just kept flowing. I believe it was partly due to my connection with spiders and partly due to inspiration from Spider Herself. She has made it clear that She would like this deck to be published, and has played a role in the selection of some species and many behaviors and anatomical features that appear in the deck.
All 35 cards will have my original art made with Krita, with absolutely no AI used in their design or execution - just good ol' reference photos and my drawing tablet. I am also writing the accompanying guidebook myself, with no “help” from AI. These images of my art have been put through an anti-AI app called Glaze that adds visual noise to the file, making it difficult for AI to read it properly.
I am planning to donate a percentage of each purchased deck to the IUCN Spider and Scorpion Specialist Group, and the American Arachnological Society, to contribute to spider research and conservation. Spiders are very underrepresented in targeted conservation funding and efforts, perhaps because they seem less charismatic than pandas, or because they are so small that it can be more difficult to monitor their populations. Every bit helps!
It is vitally important to me to reduce the amount of environmental harm that could be caused through printing this deck. Ignoring those potential harms to our world (and the spiders in it) would be counter to my goals and values in making this deck. Thus, I am also taking measures to ensure that the cards I create are as sustainable as possible given the options available and (hopefully) affordable to me. To this end, my cards will be made from certified sustainably sourced cardstock, with ink and finishes that will allow the deck to be recycled.
The company I am planning to work with ensures that their inks have strict detection limits for aromatic hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds, and heavy metals, which helps protect consumers and their workers. They use soy based inks for large print volumes, and printing methods that reduce ink waste. They also have FSC certification and plastic free packaging options.
